Problem in access internet through Windows proxy

Hi !!! At my company we have Windows ISA server to access net in local network and access to net is given on the basis of domain user ID and password which is asked as a pop up window in IE. I have install Linux 9 on my system and given the proxy settings in mozilla. I m able to access intranet sites in mozilla but when I try to access internet sites mozilla doesn't given any pop for entering user ID and password. what more settings is required. pls help. Help !!! Its Debian

Dear Friends, I have been trying to figure my way around in debian since last few days and have hit some trouble spots. The modem dials and tries to establish connection in wvdial but the last ok does not come and it disconnects. Kppp would not start in gui as it did not allow user access. Om going through the doc pages I found that it allows only those users who are in the 'dip' group. So I did the usermod -G dip user_name and got kppp running in user gui, but it does not detect my ext. modem on ttys0. The modem query fails. There is no ifcfg* file in debian. How does one setup the eth0? The sound system was not detected but the first time I played a vcd in totem media player, it gave picture and lower volume sound. but next day even that did not happen and I got the message 'cannot play cd even though pluggin is loaded'. During my modem setup I had messed with some files so I formatted and reloaded debian again but now totem has the same error right from start. No net, no movie, back to redhat. Any help apreciated. Debian's web archives have dates not subjects so I can't find my relavent topic unless I open all dates one by one. My first priority is getting the net up. Regards, Rony.

It provided the solution to the resolve problem. On connecting to the net, I had to add :- route add default ppp0 in the command line and this is my first mail from debian. Dear Mr Milind, i am sorry if i hurt your feelings, but no one is blaming anything.. i am stuck somewhere and am askin for help... Guys :-- something strange tht i noticed, when i put only one RAM modules, then it would take the NIC, sata and everything. But when i put in 4 modules, the same thing again, it wont take the tg3.o module, in dmesg i saw tht it gave an error sayin something like unable to find pci resources. Is it linked with the RAM modules and memory allocation or something.. Smartlink modem problem

[OT] Tata Indicom Latest Offer: Is today April 1st?

Got a call from Tata Indicom AGAIN today for broadband internet at 512 kbps. I asked 10 times categorically, Does it have any other limits of any kind? time restrictions, data transfer restrictions, in 2 languages that i happen to know. He replied NO, no restrictions. which was good since i want something without restrictions. Is it a shared lines or a dedicated one? Dedicated he said. Will I have to provide modem? No, they will provide. So how much was the damage I ask. Rs. 800/month and 1300 for installation.
