But the philosophy of runnig two kernels , on their own, is the philosophy of RTLinux a RTOS. Its quite simple really : A RT Kernel (the microkernel) runs, the vanilla Linux kernel as an idle process. Thus, only non-rt tasks are marked as "pending" and whenever there are no rt tasks running, Linux is woken up and it can perform the "pending" tasks. Hello all, I have all machines set up as fedora-3 linux.. I have beent trying to Configure apache server.. It is configured correctly but wen ever i try to run elinks or links.. it shows me authentication problem.. Is SE linux a concern over here.. Please help me out regarding this matter.. dual boot redhat 9 and windows 98

hi friends, i am trying a dual boot between redhat 9 and windows 98. i have a 80 gb harddrive. i partioned 40 gb of it and have left the balance un partioned. i installed windows which has 2 drives c and d. now when i was installing Redhat 9 the automatic partioning did not work. So i did disk duid but it only worked for making 2 partions only. so i made swap and / partion. please tell me why i could not make more 2 partions, /home and /boot. did i miss out on anything. please incase u have tryed this out please help me out. thanks a lot. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Hi all Well abt the Swap space I have a system with 512 RAM so does that mean that I need around a GB of swap space???? Well swap space is used to swap out the processes when there is less memory available so If u have enough memory there is no need of a swap space at all. I tested this out with many processes running and found that the swap space utilization was 0 and only my memory was being utilized. So its "recommended" for better performance to have a swap space of twice the amount of RAM iff u have less RAM(< 256 RAM and u r using X and all the heavy stuff). Although u can allocate a swap space of the same amt of RAM or less. In case while using the system u find that the system is running low on memory then u can create a swap file and use it temorarily as the swap space..NO NEED TO CREATE A SWAP PARTITION. Hi all, I am writing a PHP script to send custom emails. I have MySQL table with fields like FName, LName, Add, City etc. I plan to use the @@filed_name@@ typo for positioning for unique text for which I need to map the @@filed_name@@ with the appropriate MySQL table cols. How can I identify @@Some_field@@ from the message string and run a str replace or preg_replace. Can someone help me with this. Eg. ----------------- Dear @@FName@@ @@LName@@, @@Add@@, @@City@@. fedora core cd not working

hi, i recently purchase red hat fedora core bible. i got fedora cd with it. however when i tried to install fedora it started the installation, formatted my drive and started copying the packages. however it terminated half way stating some fatal error about bad media and stopped the installation. i thought the cd was bad and replaced the book and cd. however i got the same problem with the other cd. can anyone tell what the problem is? regards, kevin

After doing this any file created in the folder will have the group ownership of the desired group so that all the group members can have proper access to the folder once they login with their respective usernames and passwd's.
