We have encountered this problem during the installation of Subversion 1.0.1 (CVS) on RH 9. The server also hosts and runs the following :- - Oracle 9.2 - Samba/Apache/FTP/Webmin. Upgrade Novell 4.11 to Samba 3.0.7 wisdom needed

Has anybody done such a thing as this? I'm looking to make this transition as smooth as possible. I have the new fileserver up and running, and I'm using rsync to keep the Novell data current on the Samba server. Any words of advice on transferring the users and groups and permissions over to the new server in the least painful way possible? I have some idea that Novell uses LDAP so that I should be able do it somehow. I don't want to screw this upgrade up, and any help would be appreciated. I am hoping someone has already done it before and has written a Howto or something about it. Thanks, Komal PS My version of Novell is 3.11 and 4.11

It is a pity that even with tools like GNU/Linux and mediums like the internet and email our level of education and awareness has become so pathetic. Jeez here i go again like an old foggy. I am personally interested in robotics. This would involve mechanics, electronics, embeded hardware and software and tonnes of fun. Query about openvpn

Hello ppl, I have downloaded the latest openvpn2.= 0 beta release and I have already started configuring it on FC2. But there = are a few hiccups. My FC2 machine is on the internal network. I have = a iptables firewall enabled on another machine which is natting internal ip= s to the external network using a single public address. I have check= ed out the openvpn sites. I have installed a W2k client for openvpn. While = connecting from the client, it gives me the IP of the internal network, but= I'm not able to ping the network or any machine on it. I got it wor= king on openvpn 1.60, but it was on "tun" device and that support= s only point-to-point connection i.e. single server- single client. I tried= to configure "tap" device, but I'm confronted with the above pro= blem. If any1 has already setup openvpn server on linux with multi-cl ients on windows and it is working successively, I would gr8ly appreciate h= elp in this regard. Hey Rony, We'd love to conduct our experiments on something like 6600 or P900 but as we dont have any sponserer and we also lack experience so I suppose 3310 is ideal to start with. As for downloading ringtones and games through IRDA you can visit many free sites providing images, games and tones etc and upload to your cell via IRDA or bluetooth. For application that shrinks video to fit mobile resolution you can use Nokia PC Suite -> Multi Media Player. Open video file in that software and click on File->Save as and select your preferences rest the software will convert it to 3GP format and your desired resolution. Your suggestion of approaching Chinese or Koreans is considerable but we first need to meet each other (people interested in this project) and discuss the possibilities and we can later move ahead. Hey Rony, i agree with you man, but lets t= ake this one step at a time. If we can flash a simple Nokia 3310, then obvi= ously Bluetooth, Infrared, etc. will follow. The main idea beh= ind using the Nokia 3310 is that it will be cheaply available as a second h= and phone and also there is maximum tools and info available about this par= ticular model. Hey guys, check out he tutorials in this link : http://www.nowgsm.com/Flash-cable.htm They say we need on= e parallel port Flasher Cable to update the software and another serial pot= F/MBUS cable to update the FAID (Flash Authority ID) without which the pho= ne is as good as screwed. With the Flasher Cable we uplo= ad two file : the MCU(Master Control Unit) which consists of the actual OS = and I guess is thus the most important file for us, and the PPM(Post Progra= mmable Memory) which consists of all the time-pass stuff like ringtones, me nus, games, etc.These files will also be have to Linux oriented. = The software like Rollis, EEPROM tools for FAID update , KNOCK for backu= p is all there and free. There are sites which have free MCU and PPM files = as well(I have not downloaded anything since they rewuire registration on t= he sites and Im a bit bored now :=)) If we can just get the = Flasher Cable, we are good to go since one of you has the F/MBUS cable righ= t? Im ready to meet for this project though I should warn you = Im the least expereinced of you guys...I'm just too enthu.
