Can you point out to me what prompts you to say 'no MSI or anything
else' ? ? ? & what is the amazing advantage that ASUS offers over any
other motherboard manufacturer ?
Most motherboards which support Athlon [even Pentium ones I think], have
a mechanism to shutdown the system if && when the CPU reaches a
'critical' temperature, which I think is configurable in the BIOS. 60 C
should possibly not be considered a heating 'problem' at all.
Think about it, you could harvest Athlon's heat output to make omlettes
or even bake a great cake. Pentium because of its thermal properties can
never offer such extra-features [it directs all heat to Intel HQ, where
they use your heat output to make their omlettes]. So all in all, I can
safely say that AMD Athlon XP is great value for money. ;-))
Run Linux smoothly, cook omlettes, heat your room in the winter just by
starting the machine... multi-functionality at its best ! ;-)))
