Hi, Try and edit your /etc/inetd.conf file . Search for the imap and pop2 file and insert .120 so the final file looks as follows: pop-3 stream tcp nowait.120 root /usr/sbin/tcpd ipop3d imap stream tcp nowait.120 root /usr/sbin/tcpd imapd Restart inetd with /etc/rc.d/init.d/inet restart. This is to increase the default POP hits to 120 hits per sec for high load email servers. This helped us to resolve the same issue with redhat 6.2 in our office. Let us know if it helped. pppd: not replacing existing default route to eth0 does any know know what this means? i noticed this is the var/log/messages when connecting via dial-up this message comes when my local network is working. however when i disable it ie. my network cards eth0 etc. then my network link works fine. so what could be the problem? Intel motherboard BIOS upgrade causing GRUB failure on RedHat 7.3 Linux boot

I built a desktop using the Intel D850MV motherboard with a Pentium 4/1.60 GHz CPU and 256MB RDRAM (4 x 64MB/PC600 RIMM cards). The desktop board came with BIOS version P05 (MV85010A.86A.0011.P05.0111141737) preinstalled. I installed two Seagate ST340810A 40-GB hard drives. The primary master drive had a Windows 95 (LBA) partition for Windows Me, and the primary slave drive was partitioned into 10GB EXT3 for Linux and 30GB for Windows Me. The bootloader was GRUB 0.91, for switching between a RedHat 7.3 boot and a Windows Me boot. Everything (RedHat 7.3 and Windows Me)worked perfectly.

Hi Guys, Our linux RedHat 6.2 Email Server runs sendmail with qpopper and Drac perfectly. The system also run RAV Antivirus good enough to clean all virus at server level. After setting up DRAC we could minimise the spammers to a larger extend. Now the issue is users do receive lots of junk mails with promotional offers/ads etc which we would like to block at server level itself. Setting filters in procmail has really not Any pointer to commercial softwares or any other method to achieve this would be appreciated. Thanks and Regards jaishankar

Apart from the central server, none of the machines run LDAP, but all of them have the QMQP service running. Run two Qmail services at all locations - the second only with QMQP. The only file in the second Qmail's control file would be smtproutes, which would have the entry of your central server. The main Qmail's .qmail-default file would contain something like: | /var/qmail2/bin/forward "$EXT(a)yourdomain.com" So all mails for "anyone(a)yourdomain.com" not found locally would be delivered to the central mail server through QMQP. Shutdown error

Hi all, When I halt the system, I get the following error message. General Protection fault : f000 CPU : 0 ; EIP : 0050[<00008881>] EFLAGS : 00010046 & lot more combination of 0s & 1. with last line, /etc/rc0.d/s01halt : line1 : 2192 Segmentation fault halt -i -d -p Why is this coming ? How to remove it? [2] Error while transfering install image on HDD- Out of disk space

Hi All, The problem continues here...... On the 2nd day, the system hanged twice ( in 2 tries) I needed to hardboot these times. On the 3rd try I get the message like: "An error occured while transfering the install image to your hard disk. You are probably out of disk space." this sends me back where the installation starts. [ Read the message carefully, as I mention above, I had kept around 3.7 GB for / & the total package size was around 1.5GB ] once again I tried to install, but again I got the same message. so I decided to make a clean installation & moved back by pressing back button. When I reached to partitioning part of the installation, I got the message..... " The partition table on device hda is carrupted. To create new partitions it must be initialized causing the loss of ALL DATA on this drvie" This was along with 2 options [ initialize ] [ skip Drive ] Naturally, I skiped the Drive b'coz I do not wanted to loose all my data which is in windows. This gives me another message, " an error has occured - no valid devices were found on which to create new file system. Plz check your hardware for the cause of this problem. Pressing [OK ] leads me to another message, " An exceptional condition has occured. This is most likely a bug. Plz copy the full txt of this exception & file a bug report at http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzila" [ I have a copy of the bug with me & not attached here, if anybody want it I can send it to them. ] ${ Do I need to remove all the partitions, (including windows partition which I don't want to be,b'coz of my data) to initialize the disk & re-define the partition table

hi folks, We need to deploy a qmail with LDAP for address book and authentication at several of our offices spread over the country. We'll be putting one central server at our data center, with an anti virus gateway for it.So its a hub-n-spoke kinda architecture.All mails to-n-fro the Internet will pass thru this central server. some issues that i'd like help with: 1)i need a single domain ( company.com) to be hosted across these multiple mail servers 2)Intra-office mail, i.e mail from an user to another user in the same office should be delivered locally. 3)Mail for remote user i.e.one situated at another location should be routed to that location's mail server, but through the central anti-virus gateway. 4) All users have a common web interface for changing passwords 5)In case of qmail,how can i have some accounts on the local server and then instruct the server to send mails to some other user but belonging to the same domain to some other smtp sever.. this without LDAP.... i.e user1(a)company.com wants to mail user2(a)company.com but user1 and user2 are on diff machines .. LDAP is not involved in the picture i want mails to go thru a central mail server!!!! PRC - Mentors and Students resposnibilities

We need to define a procedure for signing up for a project and Mentor- Student responsibilities. I have the few suggestions.. The mentor is required to bring in domain knowledge to the project. The mentor will decide the scope of the project. [in consultation with students based on project requirements etc] The mentor is involved in an advisory and guiding position in all phases of the project [planning, design, coding, testing, documentation etc] Mentor may choose to perform part of the coding or he may not. Students will be involved in all phases of the project and should commit in principle to stick to the end of the project. Mentor may choose to request some one for independant quality assessment...[at least for non corporate projects] More questions we need to find answers to: If mentors for a project are decided merely on volunteer basis, then we need functionality to support a wish list. where someone not qualified or not having enough time to be a mentor can put up a project that someone takes up as a mentor. Will the mentor decide how big a team is required...& will we have projects that students cannot sign up for? How will a student sign up? [ i guess we need to create a page for that] - Shankar
