Samba Error: Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user

Hello, I have configured a samba server on Ubuntu 18.04, as a file server. I have shared a folder named "everyone" which is public share. But more than 1 user, I get the following error: "Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user .... ". I have tried searching the net for a solution. But it only gives does command to delete any existing connection to the server and then reconnect. I cant share the server to other users if 1 user is already connected. Can someone please assist?

What Are UNIX, Linux, and GNU? UNIX is a proprietary, command-line-based operating system originally developed by Dennis Ritchie and Ken Thompson (among others) at AT&T's Bell Labs in the late 1960s and early 1970s. UNIX is coded almost entirely in the C programming language (also invented by Ritchie) and was originally intended to be used as a portable and convenient OS for programmers and researchers. As a result of a long and complicated legal history <https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2011/07/should-we-thank-for-feds-for-th…> involving AT&T, Bell Labs, and the federal government, UNIX and UNIX-like operating systems grew in popularity, as did Thompson's influential philosophy of a modular, minimalist approach to software design. During this period, Richard Stallman launched the GNU Project <https://www.gnu.org/gnu/initial-announcement.html> with the goal of creating "an operating system that is free software." GNU, confusingly, stands for "GNU's Not UNIX." This project is responsible for the UNIX-like GNU OS. Stallman also launched the related Free Software Foundation (FSF) on the principle that "any user can study the source code, modify it, and share the program" for any participating software. I'll go deeper into what makes up an operating system in a minute, but the plot thickened when, essentially, the development of a very important low-level component called the kernel or GNU Hurd did not fully materialize. This is where Linux, a kernel developed by Linus Torvalds among others, entered the picture. It is important that we keep coming back to it from time to time. In the early days of the commercial WordPress ecosystem, many shops sold products for a one-time fee. This was particularly true during the 2007-2010 years, which were what many dub the “WordPress themes heyday,” a period in which theme shops raked in tons of cash due to lack of competition. As the market became more saturated, many businesses saw the writing on the wall. One-time fees for commercial themes or plugins did not make for a sustainable business model. Of course, some companies pushed forward with that model. They were either large enough to capitalize on an influx of new customers every year or they continued to push out new products for existing customers to buy. Today, most theme and plugin shops utilize a recurring business model. Many of those shops also set up automatic renewals. Linus Torvalds isn't worried about Microsoft taking over Linux And you shouldn't be either. Every company wants to rule Linux -- none of them can or ever will. Every time I write a story about Microsoft and Linux, I can guarantee I'll be buried under such comments as "Microsoft is buying control of Linux!" or "Microsoft is just practicing it old embrace, extend, and extinguish tactics to destroy Linux" or "Microsoft is a wolf in sheep's clothing -- it will wreck Linux." Here's the truth of the matter: Yes, Microsoft wants to profit from Linux. And, yes, Microsoft wants to extend and control Linux. Guess what? Everyone does, and none of them can. At the 2019 Linux Plumbers Conference <https://www.linuxplumbersconf.org/>, I talked to Linus Torvalds and several other of the Linux kernel's top programmers. They universally agreed Microsoft wants to control Linux, but they're not worried about it. That's because Linux, by its very nature and its GPL2 open-source licensing, can't be controlled by any single third-party. Torvalds said: "The whole anti-Microsoft thing was sometimes funny as a joke, but not really. Today, they're actually much friendlier. I talk to Microsoft engineers at various conferences, and I feel like, yes, they have changed, and the engineers are happy. And they're like really happy working on Linux. So I completely dismissed all the anti-Microsoft stuff." But that doesn't mean the Microsoft leopard can't change its spots. Sure, he hears, "This is the old Microsoft, and they're just biding their time." But, Torvalds said, "I don't think that's true. I mean, there will be tension. But that's true with any company that comes into Linux; they have their own objectives. And they want to do things their way because they have a reason for it." The Linux Kernel Enters 2020 At 27.8 Million Lines In Git But With Less Developers For 2019 As of this morning in the Linux kernel Git source tree, the kernel weighs in at 27.8 million lines! The stats as we start 2020 put the Linux kernel source tree at 27,852,148 lines (including docs, Kconfig files, user-space utilities in-tree, etc), 887,925 commits, and around 21,074 different authors. The 27.8 million lines are divided among 66,492 files. During 2019, the Linux kernel saw 74,754 commits, which is actually the lowest point since 2013. The 74k commits is compares to 80k commits seen in both 2017 and 2018, 77k commits in 2016, and 75k commits in both 2014 and 2015. Besides the commit count being lower, the author count for the year is also lower. 2019 saw around 4,189 different authors to the Linux kernel, which is lower than the 4,362 in 2018 and 4,402 in 2017. While the commit count is lower for the year, on a line count it's about average with seeing 3,386,347 lines of new code added and 1,696,620 lines removed. Besides Linus Torvalds, the most prolific contributors to the kernel were David S. Miller, Chris Wilson, YueHaibing, Christoph Hellwig, and Thomas Gleixner. Hello All, I have been using PC (Win & Lin) since 1999. Today is almost the last day of 2019. So I have been with Win and Unix clone systems since 20 years. I have been with MacBook Air since almost 1 year now. Apple Mac OS X is also a Unix clone so I take pride in using it. I don't use Windows at all. I do use some M$ tools like Office and Visual Studio (on Mac). I have been working in the web domain since 20 years. Now after 20 years I am changing my career direction. Enough of reading and researching. I am now looking forward make something cool SaaS apps. I am starting with hacking Wordpress in and out. I will be making a lot of WP Plugins in future. Linus Torvalds, Linux’s creator, doesn’t make speeches anymore. But, what he does do, and he did again at Open Source Summit Europe in Lyon France is have public conversations with his friend Dirk Hohndel, VMware’s Chief Open Source Officer. In this keynote discussion, Torvalds revealed that he doesn’t think he’s a programmer anymore. So what does the person everyone thinks of as a programmer’s programmer do instead? Torvalds explained: “I don’t know coding at all anymore. Most of the code I write is in my e-mails. So somebody sends me a patch … I [reply with] pseudo code. I’m so used to editing patches now I sometimes edit patches and send out the patch without having ever tested it. I literally wrote it in the mail and say, ‘I think this is how it should be done,’ but this is what I do, I am not a programmer.” So, Hohndel asked, “What is your job?” Torvalds replied, “I read and write a lot of email. My job really is, in the end, is to say ‘no.’ Somebody has to say ‘no’ to [this patch or that pull request]. The system, once called the Strategic Air Command Digital Network <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strategic_Air_Command_Digital_Information_Net…> (SACDIN), relied on IBM Series/1 computers installed by the Air Force at Minuteman II missile sites in the 1960s and 1970s. Despite the contention by the Air Force at the time of the 60 Minutes report that the archaic hardware offered a cybersecurity advantage, the service has completed an upgrade to what is now known as the Strategic Automated Command and Control System (SACCS), as Defense News reports <https://www.c4isrnet.com/air/2019/10/17/the-us-nuclear-forces-dr-strangelov…>. SAACS is an upgrade that swaps the floppy disk system for what Lt. Col. M$ Japan tried 4-Day Workweek

MS Power User reports on the results of a 2,300-employee experiment by Microsoft with a four-day work week: In August this year, Microsoft Japan ran an experiment where for one month they had a 3 day weekend, taking Friday off. This was paid leave and did not impact the worker’s usual vacation allocation. Some results were predictable. Workers were happier and took 25.4 percent fewer days off during the month. There were also savings from spending less time at work. 23.1 percent less electricity was used and 58.7 percent fewer pages were printed. More importantly from a bottom-line standpoint, however, productivity went up 39.9%, as fewer and shorter meetings were held, often virtually rather than in person. Finland Is Making Its Online AI Crash Course Free To the World

Last year, Finland launched a free online crash course in artificial intelligence with the aim of educating its citizens about the new technology. Now, as a Christmas present to the world, the European nation is making the six week program available for anyone to take. The Verge reports: Strictly speaking, it’s a present for the European Union. Finland is relinquishing the EU’s rotating presidency at the end of the year, and decided to translate its course into every EU language as a gift to citizens. But there aren’t any geographical restrictions as to who can take the course, so really it’s to the world’s benefit. The course certainly proved itself in Finland, with more than 1 percent of the Nordic nation’s 5.5 million citizens signing up.
