VPN Help

Hello everybody, I'm trying to install and configure the VPN network on my LAN. My VPN server is on Linux machine(kernel 2.4.2). I am using pptpd (http://poptop.lineo.com/) for this. I want to configure the n/w as Linux/Win<-->Linux VPN<->Internet<->Linux VPN<--Linux/Win Client Server Server Client but just for the begining I installed only one server(kernel 2.4.2 with pptpd) and on Win98 client trying to connect it. Linux VPN Server<----->Win98 client 192.168.0.32 192.168.0.0.112 But I'm not able connect.Both the machines are on the same LAN(using simple hubs not switches).The error I'm getting as below. /usr/sbin/pppd: The remote system is required to authenticate itself /usr/sbin/pppd: but I couldn't find any suitable secret (password) for it to use to do so. /usr/sbin/pppd: (None of the available passwords would let it use an IP address.) Setup PAP / CHAP secrets or try noauth switch to pppd. Or put following lines in /etc/ppp/peers/vpn --- noauth name vpn --- and call pppd with argument 'call vpn' read man pppd for details. Hi All, how does one edit a spec file in an src rpm and remake the src rpm. like i get th src rpm installled in the /usr/src/packages/SOURCES directory and the spec file /usr/src/sources/SPEC directory. now i modify the spec file. now how do i make src rpm again. ? Best Regards, pm

Postfix not stopping unwanted emails

hi everyone, as the Mumbai university has interoduced a subject called unix in C in the first year of engineering, our college ( Fr CRCE bandra) has got new computers (probably PIII with miles of disk space and ample of ram) which would be networked. now in the first year... there are 5 branches & 60 students per branch. disk space has to be alloted to these students... for their work. what would be the most efficient way of doing that ... -please suggest -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rahul Saxena: rahul"AT"inorg.org Fr. Most importantly, you have to do some calculations regarding how much space to be alloted to each user. 5 branches and 60 per branch i.e max 350 users including misc. accounts. Thats not much. Partition /home and keep the max space on this partition so that future need may also suffice.
