The Canidate should be well wersed with C/C++ and any other Assembly language with through knowledge of the Linux Kernel and Device Driver Programming. mouse problems

hi all, i have recently switched to mandrake 8.0 only to face a strange difficulty. during installation process, the kernel correctly detected my mouse (however, did not show me the settings!) but after that it stopped. now i have confirmed that the mouse (logitech firstmouse+) and serial port are okay. could someone pls. guide me as to how to configure it. it is mounted on ttyS1 and i have tried "mouse" only to remain in the same state. thanx ulhas
