Does GNU/Linux run on Apple hardware?

I love Apple's hardware, but don't really like their software much. Am looking to purchase an Apple workstation, but would like to run some GNU/Linux distribution on it. Questions; 1. Is there any GNU/Linux distribution which runs on Apple hardware? 2. Is it legal to run some other OS on Apple hardware? 3. If another OS is run on Apple hardware, does it void warranties? Please avoid sending in responses stating that Apple Mac OS X is better than GNU/Linux in some way. That might be true, but personally, I would prefer GNU/Linux. Thanks, ~Mayuresh

Hi all, Digital Security Workshop with Tor Project Surfing the web can be risky: corporations and governments are tracking what you do online. But, using Tor you can avoid censorship and online surveillance. In this activity, you will learn what the Tor network is, what’s the onion routing and how it’s different from a VPN, how to install Tor browser and other digital secure tools. If you already use Tor, we’re excited to learn about your experience using it, teaching and talking about Tor. In this workshop you will also learn about the Global South Initiative and how you can collaborate with Tor Project. We would like to collect UX feedback and to do UX testing with the group. There will be another talk about SecureDrop project. The Tor Project is a nonprofit organization based on Seattle, United States, that advances human rights and freedoms by creating and deploying free and open source anonymity and privacy technologies. https://torproject.org SecureDrop is an open source whistleblower submission system that media organizations and NGOs can install to securely accept documents from anonymous sources. It was originally created by the late Aaron Swartz and is now managed by Freedom of the Press Foundation. Speakers: * Gustavo Gus - works at The Tor Project as Community Liaison in Global South.
