How to dump a VHS tape into MPEG-4

Hi Does anyone know how to dump a VHS tape into MPEG-4 directly? - Is there a hardware encoder that can be bought to get this done? - Are there any organizations that do this at a fee? Any information on this would be great. I would like the RMS lecuture that was conducted on the 14th Feb 2003 at VJTI reach as many users as possible and thus to be able to download it from the internet I'm trying to get the size of the file to be fairly tiny at the same time not loose out too much on the quality. RMS Video on 14th Feb 2003 available

Hi I got the Video that was taken on 14th Feb 2003 at VJTI. Where should I upload this to? Currently it is on MPEG-2 I think (VCD) It's not as bad as I expected it to be. ;-) Can anyone tell me how to convert this from MPEG-2 to DivX format? Regards Rishi

Hello all, congratulations on having successfully migrated all these shools to LTSP. This indeed calls for a pat on the back for all who have toiled night and day to achieve the end objective. We certainly should collaborate and strengthen these initiatives all around the country in an effort to take LTSP to schools accross the country. These noble initiatives will in the long run help our schools/colleges may they be rich/poor by reducing huge overheads otherwise incurred by marrying other Closed Source vendors giving abysmally low ROI.
