hi all i am working on a RH 7.3 and my internet service provied me dynamic IP address,because of which whene ever ON my comp i have new IP address, so i always have to go to site and update it evrytime,so that i can receive mails in my mail client ,i also have Win Xp and i have installed one software which automatically updates the IP because of which i don't have to go to site and update it , so here i just want to know that whether i can do the sam in linux... will be waiting for the reply . prasad

filesystem repairs on mounted systems.

Hi Friends I want to carry out some file system repairs (fsck, badblocks, etc) The problem is that I want to carry out the repairs on my root partition and swap partitions but when my system boots those partitions are already mounted. There should be a way in which, after my system boots I unmount the partitions or else my system boots such that the partitions are not used at all. regards Abhijeet D Mhatre

If u want to send the mail thru command line use mail command.
