Environment variables in Linux

Hi friends, I have installed jdk 1.3 and j2sdkee1.2.1 on RedHat linux 6.2. I tried to use forte for java (community edition) for this setup. But it gives me error saying "Please set JAVA_PATH variable to point to jdk home." I don't know how to setup environment variables in linux. Please help me. also tell me how to set up CLASSPATH, JAVA_HOME AND J2EE_HOME variables. kshitijv e-mail: kshitijv(a)forindia.com

Cannot log into RH 6.2 anymore

I have a RH 6.2 setup used as a file server and net sharing purpose. after abt 1 month of the setup, i just could not login as root or other user. i tried getting in as linux single and changing password, but on logging again same story, also, i tried changing the /etc/password and /etc/shadow files, but again the same prob. i m stuck up now, pls help me. _______________________________________________________ Send a cool gift with your E-Card http://www.bluemountain.com/giftcenter/

well, i have a squid proxy, using IPchains for sharing net, samba for LAN, DHCP server on a RH 6.2. I wish to monitor the senders address and reciepients address (if possible). Writing client side program which will trap the urls

hi friends. I want to write a program on client end which will trap all the urls accessed by the surfer. Requirement is something like that the program will run in background and logs all urls in text file. Can somebody please suggest me tools .. i preffer C ... just tell me how shall i write it ?..... client browser can be NS, IE.... anything.. Help required ranjeet

The Adaptec AIC7xxx SCSI bus timeout on 440GX motherboards was a known bug and it has been patched. The boot image of redhat7.1 has been fixed.
