Mysterious Galeon Crashes

Folks, it's not very frequently that one sees Galeon crash (> 1.0) Try opening this URL: http://thekompany.com/products/blackadder/ and Galeon will die without a whimper as soon as the page stops loading. If you add this page to your bookmarks (I use the XBEL format), Galeon dies as soon as you click on the Bookmarks button on the main toolbar! I'd like to know for sure whether this is an isolated case. Nope, It does not. I opened the site and added it to my bookmark, no probs. I also use XBEL format for bookmark. There were few problems with galeon's stability few days back but now it is stable. I use Galeon 1.2.3 which uses Mozila 1.0 as renderer. I think, my problem got solved because of Debian's fantastic upgrade facility. It keeps upgrading and bug fixing ur system. You should look for an upgrade for ur Galeon. -Dharmesh

Why dont u write small cgi-script with setuid bit set?, that acts as wrapper and runs command passed through a cgi-variable. You might as well want to make it a open source project. You can use htaccess for authentication OR write your own authentication code by way of cookies or cgi-variables. Amish. P.S. Dear Luggers, Hi�! I�ve some problems regarding FTP, Telnet ,ISDN and Accessing mails in Mutt Mail client, which are elaborated as under. I�ve installed RH Linux 7.2 on a machine. That machine is having the Local Area Network IP is = 192.168.0.1 Now from the machine having IP 192.168.0.2 I wants to Telnet the Linux machine, but it shows me an error �The remote host refused connection.� The same case is there in FTP. So n e body suggest me step by step configuration for accessing Telnet / FTP to Linux machine from my Windows PC.�? I m having mail account with VSNL. And I wants to access my mails of VSNL POP3 account in to the Linux Mail client like Mutt. So, how do I access it in Mutt/Pine etc�..? Apart from there n e body have the Idea to configure multiple POP3 as well as multiple SMTP servers like wat my friends were doing in MS-Outlook Express. Is there any mail client which allows the facility like MS-OE�.? My friend is installed RH Linux 7.2 just last week. He is having ISDN connection for Internet as an alternative to his Cable Internet. So, how can he b able to configure his ISDN Connection on Linux system�.? Plz. Suggest step by step configuration. Is thr n e body who can burn the CDs of FreeBSD for me�? Hi, I had posted a mail earlier saying that I found it very difficult to run "apt-get update" ... it turns out that the default debian sites have become extremely slow to access from IIT. Now that I switched to the Australian mirror (arbit decision) everything is fine. Has anybody tried using netselect to see which is the best mirror to use from India? I can't do that from IIT since ping packets can't go out ... Like limited hardware support (I myself am a victim of SiS6215) and lack of multithreaded kernel on GNU/Linux (this prevented us from porting our software from Solaris to Linux). Hi I am basically trying to switch over from windows 2k to linux. I am trying to set up a router on a 333 Mhz box with 2 lancards with static IPs on both of them. I have set up the IPs on both the cards. Now my current situation is that from the computer behind the router I can ping the local network card as well as the external card but it does not ping and computre on the external network. Connecting to Dishnet DSL

Hi, I have been trying to get Dishnet DSL working on my Mandrake 8.2 machine. This is a USB modem supplied by Dishnet in Mumbai, and is probably a Conexant-make (as is seen in Windows). When I plug this in Linux, the power light does turn on, as in all USB devices, and on running `usbview' I can see it listed as "USB ADSL modem". But my problem is how do I connect to the net? Is there any tool available, like wvdial, that allows ADSL connections, through USB modems? If not, what are the scripts for ppp? Any specific parameters for Dishnet? NIC drivers. for Debian

Friends, As I did not find anyone to lend me the latest Debian CD's :D, I had to look for alternatives. I convinced a acquaintance (who has a 128kbps line in his office) to allow me to do a all night online install. I went along and then there was this problem. His card is a Dlink dfe-538tx and there was no driver for it. (I have Debian 2.2 rel 2 CD's). A quick search on the net told me that the chipset on that card is a rtl8139 one. I tried the install again and there was a driver for this, but it 'failed' to load. Another quick search on the net told me that this is a problem with the driver which comes with the 2.2.18pre21 kernel. They gave a .c driver file and asked to compile and load it. But the compilation failed as it said that the file was written for gcc 2.7 while I had 2.95. Now I cannot update till I have access to the net. I will not have access till the network card works. What shall I do? Can anyone send me a newer version of the rtl8139 driver which I can load in the 'load extra drivers from floppy' phase? It should also work with my current kernel... Or any other solution...? thanks, quasi

Hi, Try using "daild" for auto-dialing instead of wvdial. I have a similar setup as you mentioned; but with a PSTN modem. HI I have install RedHat 7.1 and wvdial 1.53 or so... I want to have a auto dial for my pc which is having a internal network also...and want to share the internet... I am using zyxel ISDN TA to dial out... I am using easychains IPchains script for firewall... hi, i too, tried a lot to install oracle 8.1.5 on redhat 7.2....the installer requires jre1.1.6 (later versions wont work..also..its path is hard coded in the script)..after gr8 pain finally the installation was completed successfully. but i couldn't create the default database for the same. Mindrome is not a Red Hat training partner

Dear Mr. Wadhwa, Mindrome had signed with Red Hat as a training partner, they were never an RHCE center for exam. Red Hat has no association with them since they had not completed the agreement with Red Hat, and had closed the Mindrome training centre even before commencement. Mindrome is a fraud company that has closed down after cheating a lot of people (me being one of them) and the directors have disappeared. I am looking for one of theire directors, Mr. Amit Nayak. hi Frinds I had RH-Linux 7 and Windows 98 installed on my PC.So while booting it alwaysused to ask me whther i want to boot thro Linux or Win98 I had some problem with Win98 and hence reinstalled Win98.Now i supose its overwritten my MBR and hence i am not able to get my LILO prompt.
