Sugar OLPC workshop in Goa 28th June - 2nd July 2010 gnowledge lab of Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, TIFR will be conducting a five day workshop on Sugar Platform on OLPC in Goa in collaboration with Digital Bridge Foundation,and Nirmala Instititute of Education, Goa, is organising a symposium on the Sugar Learning Platform. Venue: Our lady of Merces High School, Merces, Goa If you know people in Goa, please send them this note. We need volunteers with knowledge in GNU/Linux to help the school successfully run this program. The third standard school students (about 97 of them) will be given one OLPC each. [announce] boomerang: web performance testing script

Hola, I'd like to let you folks know about a little javascript tool that I released earlier today. It's called boomerang, and it helps you measure web performance from your end user's point of view. html to pdf for all files in a folder

Besides htmldoc is there any other way to convert all html documents in a folder recursively to pdf files? I need to convert html to pdf in some automatic way (script based, gui etc) --typically websites downloaded for offline reading have html documents. These documents are sometimes many pages long. Since there is no way to remember how much of the html file was read before stopping reading for the day, i need to convert the html etc files to pdf--so that the reading done upto the particular day for the particular pdf file can be noted. any script or command to give the entire filename of certain files in a directory recursively

ls -R gives the names of all files (except hidden files ) in a directory recursively ls -R | grep - i *.htm* will give me a list of all the html files in the directory. BUT i need the pathname of these filenames since their foldernames are also important to convert these files to pdf. Instead of writing a complicated shell script, is there any program which can give the complete PATH and filename for such files in a directory RECURSIVELY. Once this list of COMPLETE filenames is known it would be easy to use a CLI program to convert the file to pdf in a shell script. printers' ink

Recently i saw hp officejet pro printers being used very economically with regard to refilling printer ink in the cartridge. Essentially a one litre bottle of ink costing just 600 to 700 rupees was connected via flexible tubing to the cartridge. The bottle used to last the office for almost an year's printing ink needs. I wonder if such contraptions are available in Mumbai or other cities now. If anyone knows, care to share such info. Kussh

Its a core 2 duo, 3gb ram, 320gb hard disk machine. I am very happy with my deal. After I purchased another Lenovo laptop, this time core i3. Its G560. I installed Ubuntu 10.04 64bit, and it also worked fine. I hope this will help someone who wants to buy a laptop and run Linux onto it. This code can be used to enable multitouch (aka iphone like touch interfaces on linux) Not confirmed on Non synaptic touchpads.
