Animesh from Goa is interested in getting more feedback and suggestions on the customized engineering distro project. Remember! Sameer! if you also share your notes we can quickly arrive at some plan and start the work.

The following link points to the thread that ran on the ilug-bom list. I and Sameer (iitb) took some notes. I couldn't get the notes at the moment. The project is very important and should be taken up. I need at least one person who could commit to this task. If any one one from goa could do it, that will be great.

have compiled a list of some pkgs --mostly from the LIG-BOM archives + some of my own. plz add more. i have attempted to categorise them tho these categories may need to be revamped/overhauled as i'm from auto. bakground and not very well versed with other branches of engg or their needs.

conclusion: most of existing deb pkgs wud have to be included. some additional pkgs wud need to be added. end result will be a deb pkg that wud be larger than the orig. distro :)
deb 2.2r5 is 3 CDs. add another CD for additional pkgs, tutorials and docs (english) --i can list specific docs if u wish :)
