to use a pc. He learnt probably by observation. He and his friends used windows for games too. What was their preference - 80:20 for linux.

my mum uses linux for the past few years.Never really sat on a windows m/c. Recently went to my bros place and tried to use the comp. After a short while, she put up her hands in despair, and said "i cant use this, its too confusing!"
just goes to show, its more an attitude issue, than a technical one.
on that note my 8 year old nephew recently gave me a "shock" by finding his way around my FreeBSD m/c. (command line!!!!) [ i had logged in and started a console game.., he had exited it, and was happily launching other games ] ..... he left me feeling 'old'.
Its a wake up for all the rest who think Open Systems are confusing and difficult. They are not!
