Have you used mplayer by any chance yet ?? By itself it can play all the stuff you need. Also if you give it appropriate libraries it can also play rm, mov, etc... I bet Windows Media Player can't do that.
clients are disappointing. Nero allows multi-session CD to burnt in windows which does not work in Linux. Also unclosed multisession cd cant be read with out the CD writer in linux.
Which cd writing software do you use? I have been unable to configure my LG 52x32x52. Hey but I'm trying :) I use K3b .. very decent software for burning the cd's
Unite to build an OS which handles everthing for everyone.
This is an ideal scenario. But everyone is different. First decide what do you want from your OS, then choose the one. If you are not satisfied , choose another.... As for a start why not start using both Windows and Linux ? I've seen that it is frustrating at times when in your adrenaline rush , you remove Windows, install Linux and expect Linux just to be Windows. It certainly has a learning curve and once you get used to it you'll wonder how did you get on with your life without it :)
