So do we have any other way to check for bytes received and tranmitted say in a month? or extrapolation?
Why don't you use the MRTG scripts for ethernet monitoring. It gives you a good idea of the current traffic and also weekly, monthly etc.
I right now don't have the urls, but mrtg search in google will lead you to the right location.
