I finally installed Debian Sarge(DVD) build date 26/4/05. After the initial configs and reading the CD I was presented with GDM login screen to my surprise the screen appeared very grainy just like what appears when one logins in safe mode in windoze.
Why is this happening? Is any package missing to be installed
incorrect settings in /etc/XF86config-4 You are running X in 16bit color 640x480 or lower. check your graphics chipset and add the right driver to the above file.You might need to change the monitor settings in the file too.
