i think marathi uses devanagri script. If so, you can download the fonts and keyboard from http://indlinux.org
i dont recall what version the rh9 libraries are in, but it is advisable to upgrade to the latest version of gtk2 (which also means upgrading glib, pango and atk)
the .po and .mo files for marati for various applications are also available on the indlinux site
