Thats the whole issue Mr. Holmes. I don't need a REAL education in computers and software to learn windows. Its simple to pick up and easy to get around. I never went to any class to learn windows.
Thats like saying a cab-driver doesn't need a REAL education in 4 stroke engines to run his cab. Matter of fact is the knowledge even newbies have about Linux and their hardware is analogous to that cab-driver's knowlegde about his cab. He doesn't have to be a mechanical engineer. And that info is better as compared to the info a w32 user has about his OS and machine. As for Windows, even power-users from Windows stop cold in a Linux environment - that says a lot for the "dumbing down the masses" argument. Face it - a pc is not a toaster, *it is a complex machine* and there is no ego or high pedestals implied when we reveal that complexity to the end user.
