Hi,
Just to clarify, in keeping with Siji's and Mehul's advice - I'll withdraw the proposal for my talk.
Kindly let me know if you need a voluntary hand for helping organize the event.
Regards, Ankit

Hello Siji/Mehul,
Thanks for the suggestions - Like I mentioned earlier I do understand that you are trying to make sure that the topics stay faithful to the theme of the day - no offence taken.
If I were to go ahead with the talk - the demo that I mentioned earlier would be taken using simple arduino sketches (blink etc) and fritzing files to demonstrate that OSHW enthusiasts can use Github as well.
As the Arduino Programming Language is a independent topic in itself - I don't think it would be fair to club it with github as a talk/demo.
Trying to figure things out.

Hi,
I have not used github in that context and hence will not be the best person to guide.
As you are already aware, github is not technology specific - in fact in github's educational vids, they explicitly mention that any 'knowledge worker' can benefit [where a knowledge worker is any person who makes
use
of a computer]
I understand that your suggestions are aimed at making talk more
inclined
towards the overall theme - but I guess there's no harm in having a
github
training session as I'm sure not a lot of people may have started of
with
github, at least not the newcomers.
The final decision is in the organizers hands - please let me know
Hi Ankit,
I do agree with Mehul's view, also there is session on the same topic happening @ ILUG Meetup on 23rd. So as you mentioned initially, if you can find some relevant topics with reference to Arduino, Open-Hardware an github will give more sense.
Another suggestion from me is to Introduce "Arduino Programing Language", prepare some examples on the same, publish it on your Github account. And demonstrate/ explain these programs with basic Github features for publishing/sharing the code with community.
(**We are not trying to discouraging you :) , just want to make sure that the proposed sessions are relevant to the event title.)
regards
