The only violation of netiquette that I can see has been the lack of proper spelling.
Archival of email is pretty much dealt with by major MTAs, Postfix has recipient_bcc_maps for that. There is also the proposal for the ARCHIVE transport ruleset. You do not need to hook up a custom smtp listener in front of the MTA.
