I have used mp3blaster and it can be a little 'strange' to use at first. It's just a matter of getting used to it. Hmmm. I think though, he'll feel right at home with XMMS after using Winamp for so long. If it does lead to performance problems, I'll tell him about mp3blaster.

And yes, he's a complete newbie.

I'm running WindowMaker and it is quite good and easy.

Hmm, I've never used WindowMaker myself though.
