This priced version is for which chipset ? PC-Tel or Conexant ?
Suppose one were to choose a new internal modem available in lamington road, then what make of linmodem would be best suited for a wide variety, especially on P4 systems and latest linux distros of RedHat, SuSe, Mandrake etc. There are websites for compatible hardware, but If anyone has actually purchased one from Lam. Road and is satisfied with the drivers available and the ease of installation, then the details for the same would be most appreciated.

Rony.
Motorola's official drivers for its SM56 Soft Modem Chip are available at http://www.motorola.com/softmodem/driver.htm#linux in RPM format for various Red Hat and Mandrake Distros. There isn't a driver for Fedora yet.
