Is it possible to load the kernel.rpm for FC1, FC2 or FC3 onto RHL9. I suppose we cannot. Sometime back I saw an article on how to upgrade the kernel using the rpm utility. But I tried it and failed.
I think we have to get the kernel specifically written for RH9 in this case. Correct me if I am wrong. But if I am right, then pls point me to any link where I can get the upgrade kernel specifically for RH9.
regards,
Richard

Has anyone tried to update the Kernel. I want to try but dont know if the kernels available in >Kernel.org will work on my RH9 system. I want to download and install a new kernel in my >system and don't know how to go about it.
If u use redhat all u have to do is in the command line type up2date. This will download the new kernel for u. This is if u r lazy and dont want to compile it yourself.else http://www.linuxlookup.com/html/guides/kernel.html#3 or http://www.linuxhelp.ca/guides/kernel/ Better still hit google and type (compile kernel how to) Dont forget to add the new kernel in the boot loader
