Wanted: Linux expert to find back-door(s) into a device.
No, this is nothing illegal. We are looking for someone (a white hat?) who can hack into a proprietary Linux kernel (this is an entertainment device) in order to install basic utilities such as an FTP server (we already have the servers and other pieces written). This device has been hacked by others but existing methods involve removing the hard disk, plugging the disk into a computer, mounting it etc... We need to be able to do it over a network, without requiring the user to take anything apart.
This could be a employee or consultant arrangement. For someone who can deliver, we are prepared to pay well ("mooh mange inaam"), within reason of course. :-)
