there used to be apt-proxy in woody, but i can't find it in sarge. i heard it is debarchiver is better, anybody has used it? or know how to configure it. i have one machine connected via T1 line and others are behind it, so to save on bandwidth i need these kind of tool. thanking you.
I use apt-proxy from Sid all the time for about 30 or so machines in IIT-B. Works really well. The older 1.3x version seems to be in Woody and the newer 1.9x version in Sid. It should get into Sarge in due course. For now you can try using the one in Sid. Sorry I have no experiance with debarchiver, would love to hear from people who do.
