Thanks for the input. I haven't heard of using DSL Routers in Bridge mode, and will read up on this topic. If this is something that I could configure on the router without having to talk to my ISP (seems unlikely), then this might prove useful.
You can configure your DSL Router without the help of your ISP. At least I have done this on my DLink 502-T DSL Router from MTNL.
From a few queries that I made during the day, I've learnt that some ISPs may
provide private IP addresses.
This is the case with most small time Cable Operators, they are using private IP Space for their customers. BTW, this is not legal for an ISP.
