Hi,
i recenlty installed debian woody 3.0 but the X wotn start the error i get is "no screens found" or something like that. plz help debianers. i used xf86config program to edit the configuration file.
You are getting this error because ur monitor is not set up properly. I am familiar with this error and I was able to solve this problem by entering correct monitor param's like Verticle and horizontal refresh rate. max resolution and color depth etc.
You can edit XF86Config or XF86Config-4(if this file is present change this and ignore other) file and do these changes manually or you can run the configuration utility for x once again.
