What can i/we(my college) do for the PRC ?
I guess its actually the other way round. It is the PRC that is supposed to help students. The PRC essentially, is a collaboration tool between students who take up projects based on Linux / Open Source s/w and experienced luggerz, who can act as "mentors". Since the LUG is no way short of experience and skills, this becomes a great system overall. Students get their work done, as well as get introduced to the open source world, while the mentors, well, get some kind of satisfaction.
We're just abt to start a linux group in our college. I believe with more awareness a lot many students might be interested.I'd like to have suggestions on the right way to go abt doing this
Its a step in the right direction. I was working with DeepRoot Linux (www.deeproot.co.in) for a while, where, one of our "responsibilities" included giving seminars in colleges abt Linux & Open Source, & the response was fantastic.
May be you could post abt luggerz on the list wanting to do the same in your college, if your college can arrange for it. I am sure there will be many takers.
P.S. Plz don't change the Sub if you are replying to a mail. The threading gets all messed up.
