Maybe it's cause the web is still more or less standards compliant for the parts that most users use.
Also I have found that quoting just abv a closed solution, then allowing the customer to bargain just below works best. Phukat gets you a derisive "another free simcardwalla" look. So dont even offer a cd for free. People only value things when they pay an arm and leg.
