I've heard that Linux doesn't support internal modem ....
Is that true ?
Yes, but Not very much....
If yes why ?
It is b'coz internal modems works with the softwares codes ( drivers ), which we install during the installation of the internal modems. You can use these modems with linux if somehow you can manage to get the driver of your relative modem. I, myself, use internal modem ( D-Link sm56 modem ) on linux, & it works very fine. For more details on internal modems check out, linux doc for winmodem ( Ya, internal modems are called as winmodems. )
