Actually my lan card blew up twice. The hardware vendor blames it on my sify broadband connection. Since MTNL has a USB option, I wanted to see if it works through it to avoid buying another card ;-)
``blew up" ? i've only seen that happen due to SMPS/SMPS related problems and once(interestingly to a Sify user) because the CAT 5 coming into his LAN card was ``routed" via his building's lightning rod. The most extensive damaged was of course to his LAN card, his board was too a little parched, but was fully repaired thanks to a genius at Lamington Road. This was in Chembur. i wonder if the same joker did the wiring for you...
