Thankx in advance ^^^^^^ Linguists often debate on society's rights of inventing their own spellings... you can check the spelling you want below :).
For starters... try using man and info on the command prompt... try and read maerial on the Net. TDLP is a good starting point....
You can also read books... I'd say use Peter Norton or Sumitabha Das. They're gentle enough for the beginner.
