That seems to be a code error. Or some configuration error. I assume you are using GNU C to compile this ?

dependency errors? not linking against the current libs ? I have never compiled this so cannot be sure.

p.s. which distro ?

more imp: which gcc version. Check the readme files and see if they say to compile against a specfic GCC (hint : "gcc -v" and paste output)
