What packages? AFAIK debian is totally free and knoppix is strictly derived from debian.
Debian is totally free, is inaccurate statement. Debian is as free as you want it to be. There is offcourse non-free package tree and several key packages are part of it. In case of debian comparing it to other distros, there is a critical eye for licensing issues.
Knoppix has java for staters, which by RMS, VRMS, would be considered non-free Knoppix is less strict on the LICENSING issue than debian is.
RedHat has always been sitting on the fence in context of freedom as far as the RedHat linux (free version) is considered.
to find out which packages, do the following
apt-get update apt-get install vrms
then type 'vrms'
You'll get the list.
BTW.. you will have a good laugh reading the man page for vrms. vrms stands for Virtual RMS ;-)
