Yes. Please start.
Some general wonderings : might want to skip. Do the LUG meets have such low attendance because it is not
fun
enough to spend time on? Dont we learn anything?
I can speak for myself...i hate missing any LUG meet. They're always productive, if you want them to...Its just that I have a job that sometimes places more demands on my time than i'd like..!!!.
Wouldnt informal meets with impromptu discussions be better? I mean we could contribute 20bucks get
something to
eat, talk Computers (GLinux) and have a general good time. If we
start
having a good time, I am sure more people will want to join in.
well...its more about Linux than abt having fun.My idea of fun is a fruitful discussion where i learn something or help someone learn..
This security sublist thing is a very good idea. If we could
only
inject some life in it. Make it more real.
have patience, it will be!
Just listen to this hypothetical dream (yeah!) I had. In that dream the Lugers of Mumbai arranged a competition. There were two teams. They were given a
machine
connected to the net. One was to protect, one to break into. With something concrete people worked and learned. The result of the competition is hazy but I vividly remember that on the day of the conclusion everyone involved had a much better understanding of
security
and related issues.
thats a neat idea! but first, I'd like to learn!!
The way I see it, things dont happen overnite.and things happen only thru the interest and commitment of some people. If we have interested people like you,I'm sure we dont have much of a problem..;-)
