this is may be the cd inside the tray is couuprut or the try "mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom" or the linux can not reconize the driver please send more info on the cdrom name/ver/speed and please do not forward the whole message while replying or sending mails to the ilug group see ya sachin
