this is going to happen as microsoft is just going after money & no quality at all while linux being totally free comes with a really good quality of software & even support when needed
Yes its much easier now to convince a well versed user or an openminded Sysadmin on converting to Linux on the Desktop; But its still hell getting an average office user to convert. Particularly when she has tough time installing a simple Multifunction Device or sharing files with another PC. Also the new M$ Office 2007 suite takes Office Productivity apps and their integration a notch higher. OpenOffice has a lot of catching up to do.
