Determine which is your / partition (say /dev/hda3) and then change LABEL=/ to LABEL=/dev/hda3 in grub.conf
Oops! I goofed. Replace root=LABEL=/ by root=/dev/hda3 Where hda3 is your / partition (assumed, in this case.)
