As trevor said ... DSL router has the ethernet out port which u can either put to the switch with a cross cable .. or with a normal cable to ur ethernet card so driver problem doenst arise ... as far as the DSL Modem is concerned ...
atleast @ my previous employer we had a DSL Modem frm ETH and which was plugged on to the switch ... no need of router at all....
or may be ur DSL Connection vendor is trying to sell u a router is guess ;)
