you dont have to chnage the whole source code...the arch directory was made for that very purpose ...portability with little changes...the other source files would call sys_calls whose definitions are there in the arch directory so u have to change only /arch and everything will fall in place...but i think the /arch dir covers a wide range of architectiure.
