wonder why techies on this forum debating on taking linux to the people devote much time on the free/open source issue. Outside the rarefied world of coders working on linux this debate is completely meaningless.
The wo/man on the street needs an OS that is stable, gets the work done without much ado and preferably free. Could linuxers focus on this? Getting such a hassle-free system on the desktops of people intending to migrate out of the Windows environment would be the clearest test for taking Linux to the masses.
