Your problem solved! Probably, you don't have enough RAM when your machine is behaving slowly even with 8 CPUs..
I will prefer to recompile kernel as Tally 7.2 for linux doesnt work on FC5+ Is there any debugging tool which I can use like Dtrace on Solaris ?
