Hi, I am doing my final year engg = project on System and Network Admin
Some observations: 1) The presentation advocates linux, but provides no insight as to how THIS particular bank will benefit from it. 2) There is no input on the existing systems - and how they
will look if Linux is used - what hardware will change/remain same/what features will be lost /added - how much time and money it will require etc.
There is no way anyone will implement Linux becoz of its features or becoz someone else has implemented it. you have to give them hard facts and figures relevant to their organisation to make them even listen to you.. also, when you provide a path where they start with minor applications - then move to mission-critical - you're basically exposing doubt about the feasibility of using Linux. Linux does work, so you dont have to be timid in implementing it (i can say that becoz my company went directly from Exchange 5.5 to a qmail cluster, no less)
thats my two cents..
