more interesting by then. How about having a handon with Asterisk running on top of Wireless Mesh ?
I am very interested. If you could have it sometime in June, it would be very nice.
This is very good idea. There is some experience of this in Sridhar Iyer's lab in IIT Mumbai. Since we have very little work to do on this mesh, we can get the asterisk experiment can be the next one to plan. This is going to be very useful for rural communication scenario.
Infact as far as i recollect, I had provided IIT Mumbai with a couple of X100P cards for some of the KRESit student Projects on Asterisk (mebbe this is the same one which you are referring).
There are couple of projects which try to utilize OpenWRT + Asterisk and I shall be glad to participate in this hands on experiment.
Next lug meet ?. We should be having the setup at HBCSE running by then.
Also that If there is any requirement for X100P card during the setup, I can sponsor them.
I think we need to organize this well in advance, since it can become quite complicated, so any Asterisk enthusiast who is interested to work on this can contact me off the list.
I am interested. Let's keep it on list. I was also interested in making a low cost localised version of fxo. Basically an FXo is a network interface and adpcm converter. Every mobo has a sound device with far greater capability in the a2d dept. All we require is to use the serial interface to control the DAA ( actually 2~4 relays, two 36v zeeners an opto, an opamp and a small transformer). We could even get rid of the serial and use line in of the soundcard. We could also use a few modems. Will have to check which ones. Ofcourse if the fxo is less than Rs.500/- the above excersise is academic.
