Were there any specific settings that you made for your hardware? Or did you just use the default config without any changes? If the former, please tell us more about the config you did. You might wanna post your <kernel-src>/.config file here. If the latter, you probably forgot to make settings for IDE/SCSI or maybe made the ext3 support into a module.
