After installing Debian 2.2 and trying to start the X server, the X
server
crashed giving out the error as Fatal Server Error Cannot open mouse(No such file or directory)
which device file U used for mouse selection . Its /dev/psaux for PS/2 mouse. I was also confused when I switched from RH to Debian.
I got a Logitech Serial Mouse and is on COM2, so I selected /dev/ttyS1. But now when I try startx it gives me Fatal Server Error. Mouse(Input/Output Error)
It does suggest that there seems to be some communication problem with the mouse while X starts. At the back of mouse its written MouseMan Logitech Serial-Port Mouse. Now should I select Mouseman protocol or the option for serial mice in the Mouse config section of xf86config. I'm a little bit confused about it. I dont have manual for that mouse.
Regards, Mayur
