Use an ISA Card. But for the driver, you will have to do a lot of searching. If you want, you can take one from me.

Can I use some external mechanism by which the connection is neither dependant on my m/c nor on any one of my neighbour's m/c? Where the banwidth is distributed before it reaches anyone's PC. Something like normal Cable TV connection is given to us. There's some kind of a joint to which every flat's cable is connected on each floor. I'm not very much into all these things, but I'd seen something similar to this at one of my friend's place.
We used to switch between doordarshan and cable connection with the help of a splitter with a switch in the middle many years ago. You can probably find out for such a similar switch working the other way round from your neighbourly electronic shop.
